Molecular Sales Specialist (m/f/d)

MetaSystems Group Inc. (MGI) is seeking a driven and knowledgeable Molecular Sales Specialist to join our Cytogenetics Sales Team. The qualified candidate will be responsible for promoting and selling our DNA fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) probe portfolio to clinical laboratories, cytogenetics labs, research institutions, and hospitals. The Molecular Sales Specialist will play a key role in identifying customer needs, developing strategic sales plans, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a highly technical field. The candidate will work closely with MGI’s Cytogenetics Team to facilitate instrument cross-selling opportunities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell DNA FISH probe products to clinical, research, and cytogenetics laboratories.
  • Develop and execute territory business plans to achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Build strong customer relationships by providing technical expertise and value-based solutions.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to key decision makers.
  • Collaborate with Applications Specialists, Technical Success, and Marketing teams to drive product adoption and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor products, market trends, and customer preferences.
  • Represent MGI at trade shows, conferences, and scientific meetings as needed.
  • Provide feedback to MGI regarding market trends, customer needs, and product performance.
  • Assist in assembly and tear-down of trade shows.
  • Work alongside Key Account Managers to develop a strategy that integrates instrument and probe business wherever feasible.
  • Able to learn MetaSystems FISH Automation (Spot Counting) application, and eventually able to demonstrate DNA FISH performance within our platform.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • 2+ years of sales experience in molecular diagnostics, laboratory reagents, or related life sciences.
  • Strong knowledge of FISH, DNA probes, or cytogenetics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% within the assigned territory.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience selling FISH probes or related cytogenetic products/services.
  • Able to demonstrate FISH scanning instrumentation with strong technical skills.
  • Familiarity with laboratory workflows, especially in pathology, oncology, or genetic testing environments.
  • Strong sales acumen, with the ability to close customer opportunities.
